The Work

Anthropocene is a site-specific video installation that visualizes the dynamic between the natural and man-made. Exploring the relationship between New York's Central Park and the surrounding city, Brambilla employs advanced LiDAR scanning to digitally map the terrain — presenting a surrogate view of the geography within and between these spaces.

LiDAR Scanning
Digital terrain mapping of Central Park and Manhattan streets — translated into luminous data topography.
3-Channel Display
Three synchronized video channels offering simultaneous multi-vantage views of the installation.
Nature vs. Urban
A surrogate view of the geography within and between Central Park and the Manhattan streets surrounding it.
About the Work
"A surrogate view of the geography within and between these spaces."
